“You’re like me…you’re never satisfied.”

Never satisfied with the status quo, KJ is a teacher and dedicated thespian committed to improving and promoting the Arts and Artists of Brantford and surrounding areas. They approach everything they do with care, compassion, and attention to detail. With a Bachelor of Education from Brock University, eight years of overseas teaching experience with students ranging from pre-kindergarten to in-service teachers, and several theater credits—both overseas and in Canada—to their name, KJ is uniquely positioned to bring their vision of All Hotties Theater to life.

Deeply sensitive to the injustices faced by the Queer community worldwide, KJ is tired of doomscrolling every night without taking community action. Determined to use their experience, connections, and skills to make theater accessible to all people and to promote Queer voices and storytelling through the Performing Arts, KJ hopes to make their city of Brantford—a Conservative stronghold—a safer and more welcoming place for individuals in underserved communities. As a teacher and lifelong patron of the Performing Arts they understand both the necessity of seeing oneself represented positively in the media and the importance of assisting others to acquire the skills needed to craft and share those stories. Theater is one of humanity’s greatest tools for social and political change, and in a world where the hard-won rights of minorities are increasingly in danger of being revoked, they believe that we must use every tool available to ensure lasting positive change.

KJ is an avid reader and crocheter. When not sharing their diverse set of skills, leading a Board Meeting, or performing at a community speaking event, they can usually be found curled up with a good book, or agonizing over a new crochet project. They are also, in the words of their queer platonic Housemate, “gay as shit.”
